A bear has been reported in the Backus area. For everyone’s safety, please bring bird feeders, garbage, and any outdoor pet food indoors at night and avoid leaving attractants outside.

Do not approach or attempt to feed the bear. Keep a safe distance and allow it to move through the area naturally.
